Hangzhou-based China E-commerce Research Center has published a data monitoring report on the Chinese B2B e-commerce market for the first half of 2012, stating that by June 2012, the trade scale of the Chinese B2B e-commerce market reached CNY2.95 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 13%.
According to the report, by the end of June 2012, the number of Chinese B2B e-commerce service providers had reached 10,950, an increase of 7% compared with the same period of last year. Meanwhile, the total operating revenue of these providers was CNY7.45 billion, a year-on-year increase of 20%.
By market share, the report stated that eight B2B e-commerce service providers occupied 67.1% share of the Chinese B2B e-commerce market in the first half of 2012. Alibaba topped the list with 41.5% market share, followed by Global Sources, Mysteel.com, Hc360.com, Made-in-china.com, Global Market Group, and Netsun.com.
In addition, the report revealed that by the end of the reporting period, the number of Chinese small- and medium-sized enterprise users who used the third-party e-commerce platforms had been over 16.5 million.
Based on the current market growth status, China E-commerce Research Center predicted that the Chinese B2B e-commerce market will achieve a trade scale of over CNY1.8 trillion in the third quarter of 2012.
