Swedish bearing and automobile components manufacturer SKF has opened its tenth factory in china — its wholly-owned automotive components facility, SKF (Shanghai) Automotive Technologies in Anting Auto Town, Shanghai.
This new factory is part of SKF's global strategy to strengthen its presence in China, as well as increasing its capacity and competitiveness in the Asia region as a whole. SKF are reported to have invested USD25 million in two production lines making hub bearing units for cars.
An automotive technology center, will also be built in this facility to support SKF's strategic growth in China.
In order to service the vehicle service market segment in China, kitting and packing operations will be located within the same facility.
The other nine SKF factories in China are located in Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian, and Wuhu.
